TODAY’S TOPICS
- Major Ratings
NBC reports a 29% increase in final round U.S. Open ratings from 2011 to 2012. The final round earned a 6.6 rating and 13 share -- which is up from last year -- but slightly down from the last primetime finish in 2010.
- British or Baby?
U.S. Open Champion Webb Simpson may miss the next major. Simpson’s wife Dowd is due to have their 2nd child in late July, just after the annual Open Championship. Simpson finished tied for 16th in the Open Championship last year.
- Pro Prospects
His putt for birdie on the 18th hole helped the University of Texas win the NCAA Men’s Golf Championship this year. Now, Dylan Frittelli will test his game against the best. He’s turning pro and has signed with IMG.
- Bubba Baseball
Bubba Watson threw out the first pitch for the Orioles - Mets game at Citi Field last night. He dialed up the right distance -- but just missed a bit outside -- or inside -- if there was an actual batter?
