The story of Avery Harriman, the young son of Nebraska assistant coach Chris Harriman, and his fight to beat cancer is one that has touched many. A couple weeks ago Rhode Island players wore yellow #AveryStrong T-shirts during pregame warmups and the Ryan Center crowd chanted his name, supporting Avery and the rest of the Harriman family as he looks to beat Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia.
Sunday afternoon another college basketball program showed its support for the family, with Creighton wearing #AveryStrong shirts while warming up for their game against Nebraska in Lincoln. Creighton sports information director Rob Anderson tweeted out a photo prior to tipoff.
