GAME OF THE NIGHT: Iowa at No. 4 Iowa State, 7:30 p.m.
Another terrific rivalry game headlines an otherwise quiet night in college hoops.
It doesn’t get much better than intense in-state battles, and this will certainly be that. It will also be a chance to us to gauge both of these teams, most importantly Iowa State. The Cyclones are sitting pretty at No. 4 in the country with an unblemished record, and while they have a handful of wins over high major programs, they really haven’t beaten anyone that will make you turn your head. Iowa isn’t at top 25 program right now, but they are probably the best team that the Cyclones have faced this season.
As far as the Hawkeyes are concerned, they have a blowout win at an up-and-down Marquette team and a win over a Fred VanVleet-less Wichita State. Jarrod Uthoff has been terrific this season, but we’ll get a much better sense of just how good this group is when they head to Hilton Coliseum tonight.
