TOP STACK

Chicago White Sox

Chicago faces Michael Fulmer. Fulmer has an 8.24 ERA. The White Sox are favored by -165 with a 10 O/U. My interest in Chicago tonight is not just based on individual successes, but the fact that almost all of Chicago’s team has hit Fulmer and has hit him well. Read on to see which Chicago batters I like and why!

Other Top Stack: Colorado Rockies

PITCHER

Kyle Hendricks – Chicago Cubs (vs. Milwaukee Brewers) Yahoo: $41 DK: $8700 FD: $9300

The Cubs are favored by -120 with a 9 O/U. Hendrick has allowed a .125 batting average to Milwaukee in 174 at-bats. As I mentioned in previous articles, Milwaukee is a team to target considering they’re batting .277 over 386 at-bats this season. Their strike out numbers are the sixth most in the MLB at 412. The Brewers are also batting .216 as a team with 305 strikeouts in 1008 at-bats; that’s fairly a 33% percent strikeout rate. Hendricks is averaging 17.9 DK points over his last 9 starts. Specifically over his last two, the right hander has been on-point going 2-0 totaling 45.9 DK points combined. Kyle Hendricks is my top play of the day. With that said, it is imperative to hedge by investing in a Milwaukee stack for at least 10% of your lineups. If Milwaukee does win this game, it will be off homeruns.

Other SP Option: Framber Valdez - Houston Astros (vs. LA Dodgers)

CATCHER

James McCann - Chicago White Sox (vs. Michael Fulmer) Yahoo: $17 DK: $4700 FD: $3100

McCann showed us his ceiling just two games back, hitting two home runs off of JT Brubaker. In his next game, he followed up going 0-3 with one strikeout. Tonight, he will get back on track in the perfect match up. McCann faces Michael Fulmer who over his last seven games Fulmer has an 8.24 ERA. He’s allowed seven home runs and 18 earned runs over 19.2 innings pitched. Fulmer’s recent game logs aren’t particularly impressive. Against a Chicago White Sox team that has won six of their seven, Fulmer will struggle. The White Sox are favored by -165 with a 10 O/U.

Other C Option: Yasmani Grandal - Chicago White Sox (vs. Michael Fulmer) [[ad:athena]]

FIRST BASE

Jose Abreu - Chicago White Sox (vs. Michael Fulmer) Yahoo: $27 DK: $5300 FD: $3700

As I mentioned above, Jose Abreu faces Michael Fulmer who over his last seven games has an 8.24 ERA. He’s allowed seven home runs and 18 earned runs over 19.2 innings pitched. Fulmer’s recent game logs aren’t particularly impressive. Abreu will be a clear benefactor. Chicago’s clean up batter has a .314 batting average with ten home runs in 137 at-bats against opposing righties. Michael Fulmer allows right handed batters to hit .455 with six home runs in just 33 at-bats. This is the stat of the day! Chicago White Sox’s right handed batters are my top stack of the day. It’s impressive to invest in the White Sox top of the order including their right handed power bats in Abreu and Jimenez.

Other 1B Play: Paul Goldschmidt - STL Cardinals (vs. Tejay Antone)

SECOND BASE

Danny Mendick - Chicago White Sox (vs. Michal Fulmer) Yahoo: $10 DK: $3600 FD: $2300

Let’s go with my favorite again, The Chicago White Sox. Chicago’s second baseman is typically Danny Mendick; this is more of a value play. Regardless of who starts at second base, they should find themselves at the back of White Sox’s batting order. On a night where salary flexibility can get a little tough, Mendick could be a crucial value play in a White Sox stack. Even if Mendick does not start, Chicago’s remaining second basemen are just as valuable and viable. Michael Fulmer should be in for one tough game tonight allowing for more opportunities for the back of the order White Sox players. I don’t think a five man stack is out of the question.

Other 2B Play: Keston Hiura - Milwaukee Brewers (vs. Kyle Hendricks) *Top Hedge off exposure to Hendricks)

THIRD BASE

Eugenio Suarez - Cincinnati Reds (vs. Dakota Hudson) Yahoo: $19 DK: $4600 FD: $3200

Eugenio Suarez has a .438 batting average against Hudson. He has two home runs over 19 at-bats. We all saw his potential on September 5th when he hit three home runs in Pittsburgh. For a player that has an upside of 46 DK points and is also in a solid match-up, his salaries around the industry are insulting. Over his last 33 at-bats, Suarez is batting .273, averaging 9.7 DK points per game.

Other 3B Play: Alex Bregman - Houston Astros (vs. Julio Urias)

SHORTSTOP

Trevor Story - Colorado Rockies (vs. Jaime Barria) Yahoo: $24 DK: $5800 FD: $4500

Trevor Story is by far the hottest shortstop in the majors over the last 5 games. Check out his game logs! Over his last five, he’s averaging 14.2 DK points. He also has reached at least 13 points in each of his last and oddly enough has reached only one home run. The hits are piling up; Story is now 6-16 with three doubles and one triple. Story is facing Los Angeles’ Jaime Barria who is a solid pitcher, but in Coors field he is going to have major problems keeping the ball in the park. Lock in Trevor Story for your line ups if salary permits.

Other SS Play: Tim Anderson - Chicago White Sox (vs.Michael Fulmer)

OUTFIELD

Nomar Mazara - Chicago White Sox (vs.Michael Fulmer) Yahoo: $11 DK: $3200 FD: $2300

I was going to save my last write-up for a non-White Sox player, but the stats are the stats. I can’t not write-up a player who exhibits such high potential tonight. Mazara is currently batting five for ten against Fulmer with a home run and three walks in 13 at-bats. My interest in Chicago tonight is not just based on individual success, but the fact that almost all of Chicago’s team has hit Fulmer and has hit him well. The sample sizes are high enough to trust. I will note that Tim Anderson is the only Chicago player who exhibits BvP stats against Fulmer as he’s batting just two for twenty with five strikeouts. I am all in on Chicago tonight against a struggling pitcher in Michael Fulmer.

Other OF Play: Eloy Jimenez - Chicago White Sox (vs. Michela Fulmer)

Bargain Bin

Jeff McNeil - NY Mets (vs. Robbie Ray)

*Early Start*

McNeil has homered in four of his last five games. I know that he’s not on the main slate, but with that being said it’s important to invest in McNeil on early slates because he could quite possibly be one of the hottest hitters in the league at the moment. The Mets are favored by -182 with a 10 U/O.
