Eric Axley claimed his first PGA TOUR win on Sunday and that helped him climb 271 spaces in the Official World Golf Rankings.
Axley jumped to No. 224 in the latest rankings as he won while many of the top players in the world were participating in the Ryder Cup.
Tiger Woods, who went 3-2 at the Ryder Cup, easily remained the top-ranked player in the world. He was followed again by Phil Mickelson, Jim Furyk, Vijay Singh, Adam Scott, Retief Goosen and Ernie Els.
Luke Donald overtook Sergio Garcia for the eighth position. Garcia, who went 4-1 in helping the European team to a runaway win at the Ryder Cup, dipped to ninth.
U.S. Open champion Geoff Ogilvy held steady in 10th place and was trailed by Henrik Stenson, Trevor Immelman, David Howell and Colin Montgomerie.
David Toms and his Ryder Cup teammate Chris DiMarco exchanged positions with Toms up to 15th. Paul Casey held onto the 17th spot, while Jose Maria Olazabal was up to 18th.
Padraig Harrington slipped a space to 19 and Tim Clark remained No. 20 again this week.
