The Padres were hoping to bring right-hander Brandon Morrow back from the disabled list this Friday, but there has been a hiccup in those plans.
Morrow, who landed on the disabled list a month ago with shoulder inflammation, was forced to exit a rehab start yesterday with Double-A San Antonio due to renewed discomfort. According to the Associated Press, Padres manager Bud Black said tonight that he returned to San Diego to undergo an MRI.
The 30-year-old Morrow has dealt with all sorts of injuries in recent years, but the Padres gave him a one-year, $2.5 million deal over the winter and he had a 2.73 ERA with a 23/7 K/BB ratio in 33 innings over his first five starts prior to landing on the disabled list.
