With Matt Moore now in the mix, the Giants have moved Jake Peavy to the bullpen, Alex Pavlovic of CSN Bay Area reports. Peavy was on schedule to start Friday against the Nationals.

The Giants acquired Moore from the Rays prior to Monday’s non-waiver trade deadline, sending third baseman Matt Duffy and prospects Lucius Fox and Michael Santos to Tampa Bay.

Peavy, 35, has struggled to a 5.47 ERA this season. His peripherals suggest he’s pitched slightly better than that, but according to FanGraphs, the right-hander has served up hard-hit batted balls at a whopping 37.4 percent clip this year. Among qualified starters, only Patrick Corbin, Matt Wisler, Brandon Finnegan, and Ian Kennedy have higher rates than that.

Moore, 27, left the Rays after putting up a 4.08 ERA and a 109/40 K/BB ratio in 130 innings.
