Greg Walker stepped down as White Sox hitting coach as soon as the season ended and Bruce Levine of ESPN Chicago reports that he’ll soon interview for the same job with the Braves and Padres.
Chicago has filled in most of the coaching staff around new manager Robin Ventura, but have yet to replace Walker after he spent nine years as the White Sox’s hitting coach.
During those nine seasons the White Sox had one of the AL’s top five offenses four times, with the last one coming in 2008, and they finished 10th or worse in three of the past five seasons.
