It’s official: Andy Pettitte is back

Detroit Tigers v New York Yankees - Game One

NEW YORK, NY - OCTOBER 13: Andy Pettitte #46 of the New York Yankees walsk to the dugout after he was taken out of the game in the seventh inning against the Detroit Tigers during Game One of the American League Championship Series at Yankee Stadium on October 13, 2012 in the Bronx borough of New York City, New York. Ken Davidoff of the New York Post reports that the Yankees and Andy Pettitte have agreed to a one-year, $12 million contract.

This is no surprise, as Pettitte had all but yelled from the rooftops that he was going to pitch in 2013 and it’s hard to see him changing teams at this juncture.

Pettitte made $2.5 million this past season while posting a 2.87 ERA and a 69/21 K/BB ratio in 75 and a third innings. He’ll slide in to the number three slot in the Yankees rotation behind CC Sabathia and Hiroki Kuroda, one presumes.
