John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the Reds are interested in free agent outfielder Dayan Viciedo, noting that his power from the right side and his affordable price make him an attractive target to the club.
The White Sox released Viciedo on Wednesday after having designated him for assignment the week prior. The 25-year-old swatted 21 home runs, knocked in 58 runs, and posted a .231/.281/.405 line in 563 plate appearances last season. With few reliable options remaining in free agency, Viciedo is a nice fit for a club looking to add some pop on the cheap.
