Rich Hill and the blister from hell

Philadelphia Phillies v Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers just announced that Rich Hill will not start Friday due to a lingering issue with a blister on his left hand. The decision was made after he was unable to throw a bullpen session yesterday. Ross Stripling will get the start in his place.

Hill, for whom the Dodgers traded at the deadline a week ago Monday, has not pitched in a game since he was with the Athletics back on July 17. He’s had a fantastic year, but this blister is apparently the stuff of some evil curse, perhaps incurred by Hill after upsetting some sort of burial ground or, perhaps, angering a god who had assumed human form in order to meddle in the affairs of mortals.
