Detwiler began reporting discomfort in his throwing shoulder after his start Thursday against the Royals. He took a loss in that one and stands 0-5 on the season with a brutal 6.95 ERA and 1.87 WHIP through 33 2/3 innings. The 29-year-old southpaw had a strong 3.82 ERA in 471 innings with the Nationals before the offseason trade that sent him to Arlington, Texas for infielder Chris Bostick and right-hander Abel de los Santos. Detwiler is pulling in a $3.45 million salary this season in his final year of arbitration eligibility.
