We noted it last night, but here’s video of Toledo Mud Hen Mike Hessman’s grand slam that broke the all-time minor league home run record. It was a no-doubter:

Hessman plans to retire after the season. He says he wants to coach or manage. I’m sure someone will put in a word for him with the organization.There might be an opening at Visalia next year.
Congratulations, Mike Hessman. Maybe you didn’t start out planning to spend so many years in the minors, but unlike most guys who don’t spend too long in the bigs, you will always have something special from your time in the bushes.
