Wins and losses can be very misleading for starting pitchers, but this is still a pretty impressive stat: After striking out a dozen Cubs in seven shutout innings last night Zack Greinke is now 15-0 with a 2.47 ERA in 21 career starts at Miller Park.
That includes 11-0 with a 3.13 ERA in 15 starts last season and 4-0 with a 1.08 ERA in six starts this year, and he’s racked up 173 strikeouts compared to just 30 walks in 138.2 innings at home as a member of the Brewers.
During that same time Greinke is 8-8 with a 5.05 ERA in 19 road starts, although his 111/33 K/BB ratio in 107 innings away from Miller Park is still excellent.
Mostly he’s just really, really good (and four months from free agency).
