ARIZONA ASSISTANT RETURNS TO K-STATE ROOTS

Dana Dimel, who coached tight ends and running backs for Arizona the past three seasons has left Tuscon to return to Kansas State and be reunited with head coach Bill Snyder. It’s impressive to see assistants from all over the country leave successful programs to come back to Manhattan, Kansas to coach with Snyder.Dimel told the Arizona Star that it was a difficult decision. "“It’s a really sad day for me, to tell you the truth,” Dimel said. “I’m having the hardest time leaving my guys. That’s the part that makes it very difficult.”Dimel fills a void created on the K-State coaching staff by Dave Brock, who left to become an assistant to Frank Spaziani at Boston College. One of the more interesting stories of next season will be the return of Snyder, and whether the former coach will have as much luck returning the Wildcat program to the levels it reached in his first stint as head coach.
