By now, you know the drill (hopefully). Time to set the Days Without an Arrest ticker back to double zeros.
According to the Toledo Blade, Bowling Green defensive lineman Darius Gilbert was arrested in connection to a robbery that took place last Saturday at around 4 a.m. Gilbert, a redshirt sophomore, allegedly became involved in an altercation where he knocked a man to the ground and stole cash, a credit card, a watch and cell phone.
He was charged with robbery while a member of Bowling Green’s women’s basketball team, Shanique Ogle, has been charged with receiving stolen property, misuse of a credit card and forgery.
“BGSU Athletics is aware of two separate incidents involving football player Darius Gilbert and women’s basketball player Shanique Ogle,” read a statement from the university. “Both players have been suspended indefinitely from their respective programs. The Athletics Department will continue to work with the authorities throughout the legal process as well as with BGSU through the Student Code of Conduct.”
