With vacancies at the both coordinator positions less than 24 hours old, it’s looking like South Florida has filled the vacancy on the defensive side of the ball according to the reporting of ESPN.com‘s Bruce Feldman.
And now, according to some “in-depth” Facebook “reporting”, they may have their offensive coordinator as well.
Peter Vaas is currently the offensive coordinator at Miami of Ohio. One of Vaas’ daughters, Katie, posted the following update on her Facebook page this morning:
“Katie Vaas going to go shopping for some emerald green and gold clothing today!!!! i dont think its possible for me to be more excited!!! GO BULLS!”
Miami’s assistant athletic director for communications Mike Pearson confirmed to CFT via email that Vaas “will be moving on to USF.” Pearson did not know any other details of the move.
An email sent to Pearson’s counterpart at USF, Chris Freet, seeking clarification of Vaas’ role with the Bulls has yet to be returned.
Vaas and Holtz have known each other since the 90’s when both were on the same coaching staff at Notre Dame.
