Yesterday we mentioned the warrant and search of an apartment that belonged to four Penn State football players after marijuana was in plain sight of police. While the apartment turned out not to be All-Big Ten quarterback Daryll Clark‘s, it is the residence of Penn State players Stephfon Green, Devon Still, Eric Latimore, and Johnnie Troutman. According to The Morning Call, none of the players have been charged and the results of the seizure will be released today."We are aware of it, and we are waiting to find out what all the facts are,” Penn State spokesman Jeff Nelson said.Details of the night have no become clearer as well. According to the affidavit of probable cause (I admit to having no idea what this is, but I’m sure Florio could explain it if you asked him), police responded to a loud party at the Nittany Apartments complex. They arrived and heard a fire alarm along with detecting “a strong odor of burnt marijuana."After knocking and receiving no response, police entered “for health and safety reasons.” Police observed marijuana “in plain view in the kitchen.” The warrant was issued at 1:00 a.m., less than 12 hours after the Blue-White spring game.Green is the primary backup for running back Evan Royster. Still and Lattimore are expected to add depth to the defensive line, while Troutman had won the starting left guard job in spring practice. I expect all that will most likely change when the results of the seizure are released.Last September, another party at the Nittany Apartments resulted in Penn State players Maurice Evans and Abe Koroma being charged with marijuana possession. They both served three-game suspensions.
