Georgia could very well be playing against rival Florida this week without their leading receiver.
Freshman Malcolm Mitchell already missed the Vanderbilt game because of a hamstring injury, and has been classified as doubtful for this Saturday’s game after re-aggravating the injury.
“He’s doubtful. I’m hopeful. That’s my quote on that,” said coach Mark Richt.
“We’re not going to put him out there unless we think he can go full speed the whole game,” Richt added. “There’s just no point in doing it, especially with a hamstring. Once you do that, then you set a guy back for another two, three, four (weeks), who knows how long? If it’s not well and then you rupture it again, you’re probably really setting yourself back for a while.”
Mitchell has 25 catches and 438 yards on the season.
