Michigan State just lost their best defensive player in DT Jerel Worthy to the NFL Draft. Now, the Spartans could be losing their defensive coordinator too.
There’s been nothing official from either the Michigan State or Texas A&M camps, but TexAgs.com is reporting that MSU DC Pat Narduzzi was in College Station Thursday, presumably interviewing for the same job under new coach Kevin Sumlin. As the Aggies head into the SEC, the DC hire was considered to be Sumlin’s most important task.
The Spartans ranked in the Top 25 of points allowed, rushing yards allowed and yards per game. For what it’s worth, Michigan State held Georgia to 339 total yards in the Outback Bowl as part of a 33-30 win.
Narduzzi had been a candidate for the open Illinois job, but that would ultimately go to former Toledo coach Tim Beckman.
