A handful of days ahead of one of the biggest football games in the program’s history, the extended Arkansas family has been hit with some sobering and heartbreaking news.
While the details are very sketchy at this point in time, multiple media outlets are reporting that tight end Garrett Uekman was found dead in his dorm room Sunday morning. A team meeting was held this afternoon to inform the players of their 19-year-old teammate’s death.
No further information has been released as to what caused the redshirt freshman’s passing. The school is expected to release a statement at some point this afternoon.
Uekman, a Little Rock, Ark., native, was a member of the Razorbacks’ 2010 recruiting class and took a redshirt his true freshman season.
