Report: concussion could sideline OSU QB Daxx Garman vs. Baylor

As Baylor looks to continue his trek toward a potential playoff spot, it appears the Bears may be catching a bit of a break personnel-wise.

Tulsa World first reported Wednesday that Oklahoma State’s Daxx Garman may be physically unable to play in the road game against BU. Garman has been dealing with concussion symptoms sustained in the Texas game and has not practice at all since. If Garman is unable to practice Wednesday or Thursday, he will be held out of the Week 13 game.

The Oklahoman subsequently confirmed the World‘s report.

If as it seems Garman is ruled out, true freshman Mason Rudolph would burn his redshirt and make his first collegiate start as the 5-5 Cowboys look to become bowl-eligible. A four-star member of OSU’s 2014 recruiting class, Rudolph was rated as the No. 9 pro-style quarterback in the country and the No. 3 player at any position in the state of South Carolina.

If Rudolph does start, he’d be the third Cowboy to start at the position this year. J.W. Walsh began the year as the starter, but suffered what became a season-ending leg injury in a Week 2 win over Missouri State.
