While an official announcement won’t be coming until later on this morning, top recruit Jackson Jeffcoat is about to make a lot of people in a very big state very happy according to one report.
Per SI.com, Jeffcoat, the son of former Dallas Cowboy Jim Jeffcoat, will verbally commit to Texas at a press conference scheduled for this morning.
The Longhorns were one of Jeffcoat’s three finalists, along with Oklahoma -- where his sister is a member of the basketball team -- and Houston -- where his father currently coaches.
It’s been a widely-held belief that Texas has been the front runner for Jeffcoat’s services for quite some time.
According to Rivals.com, Jeffcoat is the No. 12 player overall in the country, and No. 6 on the defensive side of the ball.
