While the details are sketchy right now, ESPN is reporting that Texas Tech has fired head coach Mike Leach.
Leach was suspended for the Red Raiders’ Alamo Bowl game following complaints about his treatment of an injured player, later identified as the son of ESPN college football analyst Craig James.
James’ Leach’s attorney had filed a motion in court for a temporary restraining order that would allow him to coach his team in the bowl game. The hearing was scheduled for this morning.
Now, obviously, that will not matter, although Leach and his attorney will remain in the legal system over an entirely different matter.
