South Carolina starting defensive end Clifton Geathers was arrested early Sunday morning on three misdemeanor charges, and has officially been suspended by the school.
“We are disappointed in the actions of Clifton Geathers the other night. He has been suspended indefinitely from the team until all the facts come in,” head coach Steve Spurrier said in a statement released by the school.
Geathers was arrested following an incident at an area nightclub involving one of the club’s bouncers. The junior was charged with resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly orderly conduct.
