Starting Buffs lineman charged after setting a bar bucket on fire

Who among us hasn’t been there, done that*?

Will Pericak has just recently been there -- allegedly -- as the Boulder Daily Camera is reporting the Colorado defensive lineman was arrested early Sunday morning following an incident at a Boulder bar. Following the arrest, Pericak was charged with suspicion of physical harassment and trespassing.

The police report alleges Pericak set fire to the contents of a metal bucket inside of the Pearl Street Pub and Cellar; the fire was quickly contained and there was no damage. The 21-year-old Pericak allegedly became belligerent when asked to leave, with witnesses telling police the lineman chest-bumped a bartender who was attempting to remove him from the premises.

After being notified that police had been called, Pericak fled the scene but was tailed by one of the bartenders. When police finally caught up with the player, well, the alcohol involved took control of Pericak’s accounting of the events and how it was relayed to law enforcement:

Pericak initially told police he was never on Pearl Street. In the report, police noted Pericak appeared to be “heavily intoxicated.” Pericak later told police, “Listen, I had some beers and caused some trouble, but I haven’t done anything illegal... I left the bar.”

The school is aware of the incident, but is waiting for the case to run its course through the legal system before determining any type of punishment for the senior-to-be.

Pericak started the first six games and the last four of the 2011 season, finishing fourth on the Buffaloes in tackles. He was named honorable mention All-Pac-12 by the coaches.
