Well, so much for the post right below this one.
According to both the Gainesville Sun and Philadelphia Daily News, Florida offensive coordinator Steve Addazio has been hired as Temple’s new head coach. The hiring comes on the heels of speculation that Addazio, along with Penn State defensive coordinator Tom Bradley and former Notre Dame head coach Bob Davie, were finalists for the vacancy.
The Daily News reports than an official announcement could come as early as tomorrow, while the Sun reports that Addazio is expected to be officially announced Thursday.
Either way, it appears that Addazio is the man to replace Al Golden, thanks in no small part to, the Sun writes, a significant endorsement from Urban Meyer.
Addazio had spent the past five seasons on Meyer’s UF staff, the last two as coordinator. He also has stops at Syracuse, Notre Dame and Indiana on his collegiate coaching résumé.
