A tough loss to South Carolina on Saturday -- effectively foiling Vanderbilt’s pleasantly surprising 3-0 start -- wasn’t the only problem for the Commodores this past weekend.
The Tennessean reports that starting linebacker Tristan Strong tore his ACL covering a punt just before halftime, although the school has yet to confirm the injury. Either way, it looks like the redshirt junior is out for the year. It’s his second season-ending injury in three years.
Archibald Barnes (great Vanderbilt name) is expected to take over for Strong, who was tied for third on the team with 16 total tackles.
