TOP STACK

Chicago White Sox

With the Chicago White Sox favored at -230 with a 9.5 over/under, let’s stack it! Bubic has not looked good so far this year. He has a 5.46 ERA. He just faced the White Sox in his last start and actually played quite well but tonight will mark the third time this season Bubic will have faced the White Sox. It’s tough to face a team three times in a season, let alone a month. Read on to see which pieces of this White Sox lineup you should be investing in.

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates have a team .387 batting average in 93 at-bats against Cincinnati’s starter. With a high over/under and solid BvP stats, we’re going to trust in the Pittsburgh Pirates tonight. DeSclafani will have his hands full against a Pittsburgh lineup who seemingly dominate him often. DeSclafani has a 7.71 ERA over 5 starts this season. The last time he faced Pittsburgh was on August 13th where he totaled -18.1 DraftKings points over two innings pitched. In this game, Pittsburgh tagged Cincinnati starter for nine earned runs.

PITCHER

Lucas Giolito - Chicago White Sox - (vs. Cincinnati Reds) DK: $10500 FD: $10400 Yahoo: $55

Giolito is on a roll. After pitching his no-hitter two weeks back against Pittsburgh, he followed up with a 20.3 DraftKings point effort against the Minnesota Twins. Keep in mind, Giolito was on-fire prior to his no-hitter. In his start prior to his no-hitter, he totaled 43.4 DraftKings points off of a 7.0 inning shutout against Detroit. Giolito has held the Reds to a .181 team batting average over 151 at-bats. Over these at-bats, he has stuck 50 batters. For those who are particularly great at math, that’s roughly a 33% strikeout rate. More importantly, six players on the Reds active roster are batting sub 200 in relatively large sample sizes. Lucas Giolito may be popular today, but you have to invest in Chicago’s starter.

Other SP option: German Marquez - Colorado Rockies - (vs. LA Dodgers)

CATCHER

Travis d’Arnaud - Atlanta Braves - (vs.Erick Fedde) DK: $4900 FD: $3100 Yahoo: $15

Travis d’Arnaud is heating up quickly with hits in each of his four games; he’s totaled 45 DraftKings points. The Atlanta Braves are favored at -275 with a 9.5 under/over. This line has me loving an Atlanta stack. The Braves are facing Washington’s Erick Fedde. Fedde has a 4.71 ERA over seven starts. He has a record one and three. Washington’s starter has allowed .429 batting average to the Atlanta Braves over 26 at-bats. I know this sample size is small, but considering his recent struggles we should be safe targeting Erick Fedde tonight.

Other C Option: J.T. Realmuto - Philadelphia Phillies - (vs. Seth Lugo)

FIRST BASE

Jose Abreu - Chicago White Sox - (vs. Kris Bubic) DK: $5400 FD: $3800 Yahoo: $23

With the Chicago White Sox favored at -230 with a 9.5 over/under, let’s invest in Jose Abreu tonight. Abreu and the Sox are facing Kris Bubic; Bubic has not looked good so far this year. He has a 5.46 ERA. He just faced the White Sox in his last start and actually played quite well. Tonight will mark the third time this season Bubic will have faced the White Sox. I like investing in stacks against pitchers who have faced that team multiple times in a given season. Seeing that Bubic will have now faced Chicago three times, I expect the White Sox premiere hitters to adjust properly. Jose Abreu has the highest upside and has been red hot. He’s averaging 10.5 Draftkings points per game and has multi-hit in three of his last five games. Jose Abreu is my GPP lock of the day along with Chicago stack.

Other 1B Option: Freddie Freeman - Atlanta Braves - (vs. Erick Fedde)

SECOND BASE

Cavan Biggio - Toronto Blue Jays - (vs. Ryan Weber) DK: $4900 FD: $3900 Yahoo: $23

The Blue Jays are favored by -157 with a slate high 10.5 under/over (the over is currently -118). The left handed second baseman faces off against Boston’s right handed Ryan Weber. Weber is priced at a slate minimum and has a 5.79 ERA over nine starts. Weber has not shown any signs of improvement. Toronto just faced Ryan Weber in Toronto on August 26 and they tagged him for three earned over 2.2 innings pitched; they also had three home runs as a team. Toronto is another stack I can get on board with, especially in Fenway Park where the Green Monster is significantly closer to home plate compared to other MLB stadiums.

Other 2B Option: D.J. LeMahieu - New York Yankees - (vs. Keegan Akin) [[ad:athena]]

SHORTSTOP

Erik Gonzalez - Pittsburgh Pirates - (vs. Anthony DeSclafani) DK: $3800 FD: $2400 Yahoo: $13

Gonzalez has been hitting well since jumping to the front of Pittsburgh’s lineup. The Pirates are facing DeSclafani. The Pirates have a team .387 batting average in 93 at-bats against Cincinnati’s starter. I will go over Colin Moran‘s stellar stats against DeSclafani, but first let’s discuss Erik Gonzalez who is priced quite reasonably around the industry. Gonzalez will benefit off a massive Pirates victory with an excess of runs, hits, and possibly RBI. I really love these Pirates tonight. The Pirates are slight underdogs at +125 with a 9.5 under/over

Other SS Option: Tim Anderson - Chicago White Sox - (vs. Kris Bubic)

THIRD BASE

Colin Moran - Pittsburgh Pirates - (vs. Anthony DeSclafani) DK: $3600 FD: $3000 Yahoo: $16

Moran is third base eligible on FanDuel and first base eligible on DraftKings and Yahoo. Moran has four hits in 14 at-bats against DeSclafani. Three of Moran’s four hits have been home-runs. Seven of Pittsburgh’s starters are batting above .333 with the proven ability to hit doubles and home-runs resulting in 23 team RBI. The Pirates, along with the White Sox, will undoubtedly be my two top stacks for tonight’s 12 game slate.

Other 3B Option: Yoan Moncada - Chicago White Sox - (vs. Kris Bubic)

OUTFIELD

Bryan Reynolds - Pittsburgh Pirates - (vs. Anthony DeSclafani) DK: $3300 FD: $2600 Yahoo: $11

Reynolds is batting two for five against DeSclafani, which is nothing special. He does have a double and three walks, but this play is purely logical. Considering Pittsburgh is one of my top stacks tonight, how you could not roster Pittsburgh’s highest upside player. We have all seen Reynolds ceiling when he totaled 35 DraftKings points on August 21st against Milwaukee. In this game, he went three for three with a home-run and four RBI. At such low salaries on DraftKings, Fan and Yahoo, investing in Reynolds is a must play if stacking the Pittsburgh Pirates.

Other OF Option: Ronald Acuna Jr. - Atlanta Braves- (vs. Erick Fedde)

Bargain Bin

Cincinnati Reds - (vs. Lucas Giolito)

Just to be clear, I will not have many line-ups pivoting off Giolito. At the same time, investing in a Reds stack will be the most profitable pivot if you are correct. I’m expecting Giolito to be upwards of 65% rostered. If you fade him and he doesn’t perform, a Cincinnati stack will be very profitable. The Chicago White Sox favored at -230 with a 9.5 over/under. The Cincinnati Reds as a team are solid value if you decide to pivot off of Giolito.

Other Pivots: Ryan Weber - Boston Red Sox - (vs. Toronto Blue Jays) - GPP only punt.
