Take note that we are looking at the main playoff slate starting at 1:00 ET.
POINT GUARD
Kyrie Irving – Boston (at Milwaukee)
Irving will need to take over this series if Boston wants to compete. I’m expecting that to be the case in Game 1, and we could see a hearty fantasy showing as a result. Irving is expensive on both FanDuel and DraftKings, but he has some of the best floor/ceiling potential of any point guard. That especially holds true when considering that Stephen Curry is dealing with an ankle injury.
Also Consider: Eric Bledsoe, Terry Rozier (punt)
SHOOTING GUARD
Andre Iguodala – Golden State (vs Houston)
Not only is Curry nursing an ankle injury, but Klay Thompson suffered a sprain in Game 6 against the Clippers. If either (or both) of them are out or limited, then Iguodala could be asked to step up in the backcourt. Iggy is coming off a strong first round while averaging 25 minutes and 28 fantasy points through six games. Both of those numbers could be on the rise if the Warriors rotation gets tighter.
Also Consider: James Harden, Eric Gordon, Jaylen Brown
SMALL FORWARD
Giannis Antetokounmpo – Milwaukee (vs Boston)
The debate between Antetokounmpo and Durant is real. On one hand, Durant was amazing over the last several games against the Clippers, and he could be asked to shoulder a heavy workload with Curry and Thompson banged up. Regardless, I’m looking towards Giannis against the Celtics. Antetokounmpo wasn’t really pushed in the first round series with the Pistions, and it’s scary to think about his numbers with a full 36+ minutes of all-out effort.
Also Consider: Kevin Durant, punt on FanDuel
POWER FORWARD
PJ Tucker – Houston (at Golden State)
Tucker is a nice mid-range staple who has been seeing heavy minutes for the Rockets. As a result, he averaged a steady 28 FPPG through five games in the first round, representing a serviceable return on his non-imposing salary. Consider that his baseline in a high-scoring matchup with the Warriors this afternoon, and Tucker comes recommended through all formats on both FanDuel and DraftKings.
Also Consider: Jayson Tatum, Draymond Green
CENTER
Al Horford – Boston (at Milwaukee)
Horford comes at a discount to Clint Capela, and I also like his floor/upside combination more than Brook Lopez (who is similarly priced). These two teams haven’t played since February 21, but Horford was great in that one, posting 21 points, 17 rebounds, five assists, and three blocks. Am I expecting something similar? No. Will Horford find himself in the 35 fantasy point range? Probably. Does that represent strong value on this two-game slate? Absolutely!
Also Consider: Brook Lopez
