Point Guard

Trae Young - Atlanta Hawks (vs. Dallas Mavericks)

The Atlanta Hawks have lost two out of their last three games, both to the Toronto Raptors. The Raptors match up perfectly against the Hawks as Fred VanVleet is fully capable of limiting Trae Young. Tonight the Hawks face the Dallas Mavericks after a one-night rest coming off of a back to back. The Atlanta Hawks and Young have faced these Mavericks just one time so far this season. Young totaled just 19 points shooting 37.5% from the field over 33 minutes of play in that outing. He had 14 assists. Despite Young not performing particularly great (scoring-wise), the Hawks were able to win this game 113 to 87 (Dallas had a full lineup). Atlanta was able to play as a team in this match-up. All five starters had double-digit points and Cam Reddish led the way with 20 points. Collins is currently questionable for the Hawks tonight but Dallas will be without Kristaps Porzingis and possibly Maxi Kleber. So why Trae? In their first matchup with the Mavericks (which I mentioned above), Young was limited by the shot-blocking abilities of Dallas’ big men. These big men will not be playing tonight. I believe Young has what it takes to beat Luka off the dribble and penetrate towards the basket, and unlike last game, without the likes of Porzingis and possibly Kleber, Young will capitalize off of this penetration and score (as opposed to dishing it out for the assist). Trae is sitting at a salary of $10,100 on DK directly below his matchup in Luka Doncic (who has a whopping salary of $12,000). The Hawks are - 2.5 point underdogs with a 221.5 O/U on PointsBet. I like the Hawks ML tonight.

Other PG options: Jalen Brunson

Shooting Guard

Luka Doncic - Dallas Mavericks (vs. Atlanta Hawks)

Assuming Trae Young is a valid play for tonight‘s main slate, you have to consider Luka Doncic as well. Yes, for the same lineup. For Trae to hit 60 DK FP (which is what we need from him to reach value at his current salary), this game needs to be close. I see a back-and-forth affair between both teams’ point guards tonight. On a small five-game slate, investing in Young and Doncic could very well be the strategic move to take down tonight’s GPP’s. You just need to find value to afford this duo.

Other SG options: Isaac Okoro

Small Forward

Marcus Morris Sr. - Los Angeles Clippers (vs. Milwaukee Bucks)

Reggie Jackson can do his thing now, without Eric Bledsoe looming on the bench. The problem is, he has a tough matchup against Jrue Holiday. Milwaukee is coming off of a back-to-back after defeating Portland last night. Although Bledsoe is out, Reggie has a tough matchup giving me confidence in Marcus Morris. Reggie isn’t the only Clipper expected to see increased usage after Saturday‘s trade. Morris has averaged 29.9 DK FP over his last three games. He’s shooting 50% from the field and from deep over this span. Matching up against Middleton should be no problem for Los Angeles’ veteran small forward. Morris is coming off of a 45.25 fantasy point effort at a salary of $5,700. Tonight his salary has risen to $6,400. I expect another 40 FP effort out of Marcus Morris Sr. tonight.

Other SF options: Dorian Finney-Smith

Power Forward

Giannis Antetokounmpo - Milwaukee Bucks (vs. Los Angeles Clippers)

Sticking with this Milwaukee vs. Clippers matchup, Giannis should be able to produce at will tonight against an undersized Clippers team. Zubac (if he plays) is not a viable defender for Giannis and for that matter neither are Batum, Morris, or any of their starting five. Fitting Giannis, Young, and Doncic in a lineup will be nearly impossible but if by chance you find a way to do it, that would be a solid GPP strategy. I see all of these superstars reaching value + tonight. For those who are interested, if you decide to lock in all three of the superstars (Young, Antetokounmpo, and Doncic) you’re left with $3,140 per for your remaining five players. If you are able to find solid value, this could be a unique and lucrative GPP strategy tonight. If only Serge was at minimum salary!

Other PF options: Evan Mobley

Center

Serge Ibaka - Los Angeles Clippers (vs. Milwaukee Bucks)

With Ivica Zubac questionable for tonight, a potential value play comes to mind. The Clippers will need length at their center position to try and maintain Giannis. Who better than veteran Serge Ibaka to fill that role. Serge is able to stretch the floor and protect the rim. He is currently sitting at a salary of $4,700 and has averaged 35.60 DK FP over his last two games. Serge will be needed tonight and at his current salary, reaching value is inevitable. Zubac or not, lock in Serge tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Other C option: Bobby Portis
