“We have an on-running joke with my husband that if I make three birdies in a row, he has to send me a picture with his shirt off, which, being married to him, you’d think I would get that all the time. But it’s kind of like an incentive to keep birdieing and making birdies … So, I’m not sure what six gets us. Is my face red?” – after reeling off six straight birdies during her Solheim Cup match on Saturday

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. – A threat of inclement weather resulted in the suspension of play at 5:39 p.m. ET Sunday at The Players Championship.

The final pairing of Martin Kaymer and Jordan Spieth had reached the 14th green at TPC Sawgrass when the horn blew, with Kaymer at 15 under, leading by three shots over Jim Furyk. Kaymer played his first 13 holes in 4 under and has yet to make a bogey during the final round. Spieth saw his 58-hole bogey-free streak on the Stadium Course end when he bogeyed the fifth hole Sunday, and at 11 under he trails Kaymer by four shots.

Twelve players have yet to complete their final round, including Furyk, who was standing over a 3-foot putt on the 18th green when the horn sounded.

The lowest player already in the clubhouse is Justin Rose, who finished the week at 10 under after his two-shot penalty for inadvertently moving his ball during the third round was rescinded Sunday morning. Sergio Garcia and Francesco Molinari are both on the course at 10 under, with four and two holes left to play, respectively.

Should there be a tie after 72 holes, a three-hole aggregate playoff will be contested across holes 16, 17 and 18.

With rain falling at the Stadium Course, Tour officials announced that play would resume at 7:10 p.m. Sunset in Ponte Vedra Beach is scheduled for 8:10 p.m.
