LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Jerry Kelly tied a PGA Tour record Oct. 10 with eight consecutive birdies at the Las Vegas Invitational.
Kelly birdied Nos. 7 through 14 at the TPC at Summerlin with putts from 6 inches to 15 feet.
Other players who have had eight consecutive birdies at Tour events are Bob Goalby (1961), Fuzzy Zoeller (1976), Dewey Arnette (1987), Edward Fryatt (2000) and J.P. Hayes (2002).
Kellys round didnt start well -- he bogeyed two of the first four holes.
I was about as hot as Ive been in a while, Kelly said. Then all of a sudden, I started making everything.
Kelly finished with a 7-under 65 and was at 18 under after three rounds of the 90-hole tournament.
