Leggatt to Miss Three Months

Ian Leggatt will be sidelined for three months due to wrist surgery.

Leggatt will undergo surgery April 7 to relieve symptoms of carpal tunnel syndrome in his left wrist.

The 38-year-old Canadian is expected to miss 10-12 weeks and will likely apply to the PGA Tour for a medical exemption for the 2005 season.

Everybody knows I would rather be on the golf course, Leggatt said in a prepared statement. But the priority here is doing whats best for my career in the long term.

The surgery will be preformed by Dr. Don Sheridan, who is a team physician for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Leggatt, who now lives in Scottsdale, Ariz., won the 2002 Tucson Open. He has made just over $8,000 in five starts this season.
