After a somewhat predictable slow start to the season, the Cavaliers have gotten rolling a bit, and have begun to pile up some victories by winning nine of their last 11 games.
They may be hard-pressed to continue that trend on Wednesday if one of their top players is unable to go at home against the Atlanta Hawks.
From Chris Haynes of Cleveland.com:Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love is experiencing flu-like symptoms and will be a game-time decision tonight versus the Atlanta Hawks.
Love did not participate in morning shootaround. He went through practice on Tuesday so he must have stated to feel ill last night or this morning.
Cleveland crushed Atlanta in the first meeting between the two teams earlier this season, and Love finished that one with 13 points, six rebounds and five assists in that one.
Announcement: Pro Basketball Talk’s partner FanDuel is hosting a one-day $300,000 Fantasy Basketball league forWednesday’s NBA games. It’s $25 to join and first prize is $30,000. Starts at 7pm ET on Wednesday. Here’s the FanDuel link.
But the Hawks have started to figure things out since then, and are 12-2 in their last 14 games.
Love’s absence will certainly hurt, but even with as well as Atlanta has played recently, there’s always the possibility that LeBron James or Kyrie Irving will turn in a transcendent performance that will be too difficult for their opponents to stop.
