By rejecting the Pelicans’ qualifying offer after getting picked No. 42 in the 2013 draft, Pierre Jackson essentially shut his NBA door for a year. So, he performed like an NBA player in the D-League.
Preparing for the next season, Jackson suffered a devastating injury in summer league. Despite a couple contracts with the 76ers, Jackson has yet to play in the NBA.
That’ll seemingly change with Jackson replacing Jonathan Gibson on the Mavericks.
Shams Charania of Yahoo Sports:
The Mavericks are signing D-League Texas guard Pierre Jackson to a partially guaranteed two-year deal, league sources tell The Vertical.

Jackson is too good for the D-League. He’s averaging 29 points, shooting 54% from the field and 43% on 3-pointers, with six assists per game.
Will that translate to NBA success? Jackson deserves a chance to find out.
