Zach Randolph’s big night in the city

Zach Randolph was Godzilla to New York’s Tokyo last night, leveling the Knicks with 31 points and 25 rebounds. All that from a guy who can’t jump. Randolph was pinned as a cornerstone of the Knicks’ mid-00’s failures and took out his aggression on his old club. The Knicks’ defense tends to elevate opponents stats and create anomalies, but where exactly does Randolph rank in history with that game?

Via Basketball-Reference, here’s a list of the players who have had at least 30 points and 25 rebounds in a game throughout history.

Chris Webber
Hakeem Olajuwon (2X)
Kevin Willis (2X)
Patrick Ewing
Charles Barkley
Kevin Garnett
Lorenzen Wright
Shaquille O’Neal
Dwight Howard

Not bad company for Z-Bo. He did have the lowest field goal percentage of any of those players, but then, he got a win and many of them did not. Next time the Knicks may want to sign Mothra.
