Here’s a wild understatement: the first episode of HBO’s “24/7 Penguins/Capitals: Road to the Winter Classic” was fantastic. It’s hard to deny Joe’s snap review that it was an “instant classic.”
(My favorite moments included Bruce Boudreau’s profanity-laced tirade, the many instances in which the Pittsburgh Penguins gave each other a hard time, all the beautiful hockey shots and the comedy of seeing Boudreau in some excessively tight workout gear. Few things make me giggle light a mammoth gut.)
Anyway, that first episode can be found here and is also available with HBO On Demand beginning today.
The next one should be interesting, as well, being that it will likely cover the end of the Penguins’ winning streak and the conclusion of the Capitals’ slump. Here is some information on the second edition, via an NHL press release.Episode #2
