Islanders forward Josh Bailey is getting closer to returning according to Arthur Staple of Newsday.
Bailey no longer has a brace on his broken left hand and, according Staple, his stick handling and shot have gotten stronger. The 25-year-old was practicing teammates during the Islanders’ recent five-game road trip.
Bailey, who has been out of New York’s lineup since Oct. 22, missed his seventh game on Saturday in Arizona.
In seven games this season, Bailey has two goals and four points.
