Alex Ovechkin already had a chance to break his tie with Sergei Fedorov against the Detroit Red Wings. Will this second shot do the trick?
Ovechkin’s been snake-bitten since tying Fedorov’s record for goals scored by a Russian-born player, but that serves as a nice bonus storyline for tonight’s Wednesday Night Rivalry match between the Red Wings and Washington Capitals.
Fittingly, Ovechkin goes back to a line with Nicklas Backstrom, the guy who set up many of his goals ... and also set up some Fedorov tallies.
