The Buffalo Sabres couldn’t have had a much worse start to the season, but they went on an impressive 6-1-0 stretch from Nov. 15 through Dec. 2. Since then the Sabres have lost two in a row, which begs the question if they’re simply falling back to Earth after a hot streak. Buffalo was never expected to be a serious competitor this season, so is it too much to believe that its recent outburst was actually the start of a long-term turnaround?
