Michigan transfer Kameron Chatman isn’t going too far.
And his new program won’t be all that much different than his last program.
Chatman, a former top 25 recruit in the Class of 2014, will play his final two seasons for Detroit Mercy, according to multiple reports. The new head coach at Detroit is Bacari Alexander, who was a longtime assistant of John Beilein with the Wolverines.
A 6-foot-7 combo-forward, Chatman made arguably the biggest shot of Michigan’s season -- a three from the corner to beat Indiana at the buzzer in the Big Ten Tournament that gave UM a win it needed to get an at-large bid -- but he averaged just 2.8 points and 1.4 boards on the year. He took a DNP-CD in eight games.
Chatman was one of four Michigan players to transfer out of the program this offseason, and one of three from the Class of 2014.
