Florida State loss epitomizes jumbled ACC

Just as it was at the beginning of the 2010 season, the ACC is wide open.

Heading into tonight’s game against North Carolina State, Florida State appeared, at least on the surface, to be the class of the parity-driven league.

Lee Corso my not be my fav, but I’m going to steal it, anyway: Not. So. Fast my friend.

After trailing early, the Wolfpack, lead by quarterback Russell Wilson, overcame a 14-point halftime deficit to win 28-24, outscoring the Seminoles 21-3 in the second half. It might have also showed that there’s a new sheriff in the ACC Atlantic.

At 3-1, North Carolina State holds the division tie-breaker over the ‘Noles and controls its own destiny through the rest of the 2010 season. At this point, though, the Atlantic appears to be a two-horse race. However, as we saw tonight, nothing in the ACC is ever guaranteed.

Here’s betting on a 9-4 ACC team in the BCS.
