Offensive lineman Will Furlong, who started five games during his redshirt freshman season at Florida State, has left the school and will transfer to D-II North Alabama. But not without getting a few choice words in about Seminoles offensive line coach Rick Trickett.Furlong claims that after he broke his foot midway through the 2008 season, the coach turned on him."I had some problems with him, with the way he treated me and the way he talked to me,” Furlong said. “I didn’t have a good relationship with him, but I don’t think it’s possible to have a good relationship with him."Interestingly enough, Furlong and coach Bobby Bowden‘s relationship must’ve stayed intact, because it was the FSU coach who mentioned to his son Terry Bowden that Furlong had quit the football team and was hoping to transfer. Because North Alabama is a Division II team, Furlong will be eligible to play right away next season."I still have all the same goals I had -- to be an All-American and to win a national championship,” Furlong said. “I think I can still do what I want to do at North Alabama."Trickett declined to comment for the story, probably a wise decision in a battle he most likely can’t win.
