A little over a week since going AWOL on the Miami Hurricanes, former Michigan quarterback Tate Forcier has, for the seemingly fifth time, laid out a list of potential programs to which he could transfer.
In a conversation with ESPN’s Joe Schad -- who is on fire today -- Forcier said Auburn, USC, San Diego State, Montana, Kansas State and University of San Diego were possible destinations, proving once again that anybody can throw darts at a map of the United States while blindfolded.
“I have to lay everything out and figure out my visits,” Forcier told Schad.
As you’ll recall, Forcier had previously flirted with transferring to Montana, where he could hypothetically play right away because of the Grizzlies’ 1-AA status. However, seeing as ex-Notre Dame quarterback Nate Montana has since transferred to the school, thus creating some potential competition for Forcier, we’re guessing he’ll pass again.
Speaking of competition, Forcier added that it was not the decision of ex-Memphis quarterback Ryan Williams to transfer to the ‘Canes that prompted him to find another destination. On the contrary, Forcier claims he simply wanted to be closer to his hometown of San Diego more than “a part of the rebirth at Miami.”
“I just didn’t feel comfortable and wanted to be closer to home,” Forcier said. “Miami is completely on the other side of the country. It would have been fun playing there. But I just wanted to be closer so my parents can afford to come to the games.”
Because, you know, Auburn, Kansas State and Montana are right in his backyard.
Also, someone should probably tell Forcier that Russell Wilson is looking into Auburn as well. Just in case.
