NBA DFS Plays: Thursday 2/27

C.J. McCollum

C.J. McCollum

Troy Wayrynen-USA TODAY Sports

This article aims to highlight some of the best NBA DFS Plays at every position for your cash game lineups. Keep in mind that the following player write-ups were constructed earlier in the day, and sometimes injury/rest situations can alter the fantasy landscape. Monitoring our NBA News & Headlines Feed throughout the day will keep you in the loop while giving you the subsequent DFS consequences of each information piece.

We’ll take a look at Thursday’s four-game main slate starting at 7:00 ET.

POINT GUARD

Rajon Rondo - LA Lakers (at Golden State)

LeBron James will not play for the Lakers tonight. That should thrust Rondo into more of a playmaking role with the potential for heightened minutes. Rondo’s salary has bottomed-out, so this is an interesting buy-low opportunity for DFS purposes. Making matters even better, the Lakers are facing Golden State tonight - a team that ranks 29th in defensive efficiency to point guards.

Also Consider: Chris Paul, Shake Milton

SHOOTING GUARD

CJ McCollum - Portland (at Indiana)

Damian Lillard will remain sidelined, meaning CJ McCollum will continue to enjoy extreme usage for the Blazers. Over the past three games with Lillard out, McCollum has racked up 44, 72, and 52 fantasy points respectively. There’s a good chance he’ll come through again tonight, as he’ll take on an Indiana team that ranks 20th in defensive efficiency to shooting guards. Make no mistake about it, McCollum is a premium option on this four-game slate.

Also Consider: Buddy Hield, Josh Richardson

SMALL FORWARD

Tobias Harris - Philadelphia (vs. New York)

Ben Simmons is out, and Joel Embiid is highly questionable (leaning towards doubtful) tonight. That leaves Tobias Harris and Al Horford with their work cut out for them. I’m expecting both to come through with solid fantasy performances against a New York team that ranks below average (17th) in defensive efficiency to opposing frontcourts. Harris has achieved 44+ fantasy points in two of his last four outings, and this is an excellent spot for him to resume that upside.

Also Consider: Carmelo Anthony, TJ Warren

POWER FORWARD

Anthony Davis - LA Lakers (at Golden State)

As mentioned earlier, LeBron James will not play tonight. That should funnel plenty of usage towards the Lakers’ other superstar, Anthony Davis. There’s enough value to comfortably roster Davis through all DFS formats, and I highly recommend that strategy tonight. On top of seeing more opportunities, Davis finds himself in a cushy matchup at Golden State - who ranks 21st in defensive efficiency to power forwards.

Also Consider: Al Horford, Kyle Kuzma

CENTER

Hassan Whiteside - Portland (at Indiana)

Take note that the center position has numerous quality options despite this being an abbreviated four-game slate. You could look towards Hassan Whiteside, Steven Adams, and Mitchell Robinson on DraftKings, but FanDuel will force you to choose just one. I’m playing the salary game while looking towards Whiteside and turning towards Adams/Robinson only if the salary is too cumbersome. Hassan finds himself in an outstanding matchup tonight, facing an Indiana team that ranks 27th in defensive efficiency to centers.

Also Consider: Steven Adams, Mitchell Robinson
