Whether or not Kentucky has it’s best and most versatile offensive threat for their game with Georgia won’t be known until Saturday afternoon.
Randall Cobb is still bothered by a shoulder injury suffered in the win over Vanderbilt last Saturday. The wide receiver/quarterback has been limited in practice throughout the week.
“Cobb took a few reps today and it’ll be a game-time decision on his availability,” head coach Rich Brooks said. “The doctors will advise me on what the best scenario is and we’ll go from there.
“It had been bothering him before the (Vanderbilt) game. It’s a tough job when you take as many hits as those guys do. He’s not the biggest guy in the world. He is one of the most talented, but he’s not one of the biggest.”
This season, Cobb leads the team in pass receiving (32 catches for 384 yards and two touchdowns) and is second on the team in rushing with 396 yards and seven TDs. He also averages 13.2 yards on punt returns, with one TD, and averages 25.2 yards on kickoff returns.
In other words, it’s kind of important to the offense that he returns. To say the least.
