South Carolina’s “upset” win over “No. 4" Ole Miss was somewhat tempered by a rib injury to starting quarterback Stephen Garcia.
Any fears of a broken rib(s) proved to be unfounded, however, as a CT scan revealed no fractures in the area, The State newspaper is reporting.
Instead, Garcia simply has bruised ribs, which he suffered in the second quarter of the win over the Rebels.
According to the paper, Garcia received Tylenol and a cortisone shot to help minimize any pain or discomfort he was feeling, which allowed the QB to finish off the win.
