According to Dan Silver of Blue & Gold Illustrated, former Cleveland Browns head coach Romeo Crennel will not be heading to South Bend as part of Charlie Weis’ Notre Dame staff.At a press conference that is still ongoing, Weis stated that Crennel could not commit to being the defensive line coach at this time, so he’s no longer under consideration. Weis added that a new DL coach would be named in a few days.Crennel, who recently underwent hip replacement surgery, has a standing offer from Browns owner Randy Lerner for an undetermined position within the organization.
