Ohio State four-star recruit shot

While the details are very, very scant right now, the Columbus Dispatch is reporting that a member of Ohio State’s 2010 recruiting class has been injured in a shooting.

According to the Dispatch, and citing a source very close to the program, Jamel Turner was shot this weekend in Youngstown. Whatever injuries the defensive lineman incurred are not believed to be life-threatening.

Apparently, though, this is the latest in a string of issues that have plagued the lineman.

This is just the latest in a long line of trouble for Turner, a defensive end. He was kicked off the Ursuline High School basketball team for disciplinary reasons in the spring of 2009, his junior year, and declared academically ineligible for sports.

He was spending his senior year at Fork Union (Va.) Military Academy and appeared to be doing well. ...

He left Fork Union in March, though, for reasons that were never explained.

Turner was rated as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com before committing to the Buckeyes this past February.
